The place is known to have brought the South Indian food for the first time in Udaipur. It is the oldest South Indian restaurant in Udaipur and has maintained its taste. It's known for the authentic taste in South Indian food. When there weren't many restaurants in Udaipur, Purohit Cafe was the place Udaipurites used to flock to. It's more about the emotion of people of Udaipur rather than anything else. This place still remains heavily crowded in evening.

Stopped at Purohit Cafe for breakfast during our road trip — and what a find! The food was fresh, hot and made to order, with an authentic Tamil Nadu taste that completely surprised us.
We had dosas — crisp and perfectly made, thatte idlis — soft, fluffy and steaming hot, and filter coffee that was strong, fresh and just right. The sambar and chutneys were spot on too. You wouldn't expect such genuine South Indian flavours in the middle of Rajasthan!
Service was quick, warm and attentive. Food came out fast, exactly what you need when you're back on the road. Clean, efficient, fairly priced and genuinely delicious.
Highly recommended. We'd happily stop here again!
